MEET YOUR CLINICIAN

Catherine Anderson Provisional Psychologist

My Background

I hold a Master of Professional Psychology and have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults and families across private practice, not-for-profit, and research settings. I have supported people navigating a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, life transitions, as well as parents during the perinatal period. Whatever brings someone to therapy, I feel privileged to walk alongside them in that process.

My Clinical Approach

I take a warm, compassionate and down-to-earth approach to therapy, and believe that feeling safe and supported is the foundation on which the rest of our work together sits.

I work collaboratively with clients to understand what matters most to them and to move toward goals that feel meaningful and realistic for their lives.

My approach is flexible and tailored to each individual, drawing on evidence-based therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Attachment-informed approaches

When working with children and adolescents, I prioritise building trust and connection above all else, incorporating creativity and flexibility to help young people feel safe and genuinely engaged in the process.

I work from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective and am committed to creating a space that is welcoming and safe for people of all gender identities, sexual orientations and lived experiences.

Catherine works closely with Dr Rachel Bushing and together we provide the most comprehesive support for any client.
